Worrowing is a beautiful 250-acre family owned and run property in Jervis Bay, NSW.

Only 2.5hrs drive south of Sydney, Worrowing has quickly developed a reputation as a high-end, country wedding venue, attracting not only locals but many Sydney-siders down to tie the knot.

But did you know, Worrowing also has a range of accommodation options you can book - to un-plug, slow down and recharge? That’s right! With an abundance of wildlife at your doorstep, views of rolling hills overlooking the Budawang Mountain Range and with only a few minutes of driving, you can enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches of Jervis Bay, Worrowing really should be at the top of your list for a getaway once restrictions start to ease. Because time spent in nature really fulfils the soul, especially after isolating at home for so long.

As a couple, enjoy the Boatshed and sleep the night away over the water. The deck is the perfect place for both your morning coffee, or a beer from Jervis Bay Brewing Co. in the afternoon. With a bathroom and kitchenette, you have everything you need for a simple, slow weekend away.

Or, if you’d prefer to do your own cooking while you’re there, maybe the Wilderness Hut will be just right for you! With a full-sized kitchen, a bath tub and your own fire pit outside, what more could you want? The huts are all spaced apart, offering complete privacy during your stay.

For a small family, the cottages are perfect. With amazing views down to the dam, plenty of room for the kids to run around and kangaroos at your doorstep, you can really embrace the country life.

Larger groups will love the Farm House (where we stayed!) With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, outdoor table settings and a heap of living space, you will be more than comfortable. We really enjoyed the horses strolling up to the back fence in the afternoons for a pat, and watching the kookaburras fly in and take off.

There is one other option available to you - The Stables. The newest addition to the gang, and usually the bridal suite for weddings. The Stables was (as the name suggests) not too long ago horse stables, which has now been converted into yet another option to book for your stay at Worrowing. Tastefully decorated, and with ample living space, the Stables is a favourite among many guests.

As well as the many walks around the area - our favourites being The White Sands Walk and the shared pathway between Vincentia and Huskisson - Worrowing even has a 4km walking trail through the bush. Yep, it really does have it all! Beautiful at anytime of day, you can disconnect, listen to the birdlife and admire the scribbly gums while getting your dose of nature.

A truly family-friendly experience, our kids loved every moment of their time here. Constantly outdoors running around, foraging, visiting the animals, collecting fresh eggs and sampling produce straight from the veggie garden, it really was a children's paradise. The team at Worrowing are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is ever a problem and they have a variety of suggestions to keep you busy during your getaway.

If you’re a local to the Shoalhaven and are looking for a little getaway as restrictions ease, I really can’t recommend Worrowing enough. My pick would be a mid-week getaway, when the town is quiet and you don’t have to lineup for your coffee. You can stroll along the beaches without passing too many people, and really just enjoy being a tourist in your own area. Do a walk you haven’t done before, visit a beach you’ve never been to and try a new restaurant or cafe for the first time. Our local businesses really need our support right now, and into the future.
